Made it to Rawlins, WY on Thursday July 7 and decided to stop and regroup. The last few days between Frisco, CO and here were magical, hard & challenging but loved it all. Was conflicted about continuing, but couldn’t quite get my head to move forward. Sometimes that happens.
Met some great folks, Nancy and Jeff in Steamboat, Matt from Massachusetts, Denise from Chicago, plus the crew at Brush Mountain Lodge: Kirsten the owner, Alexandra Houchin and her partner Johnny, Justin and Clara Duboix, Zack from Estes Park and Richard from Steamboat. All amazing riders resting up for the Colorado Trail Race. Alex is going for the triple crown on a SS (TD, CTR and AZT). Badass. Also got to spend an evening with friends Woody and Melinda in Frisco. Was strange the last 10 days without Kathy, John, Stuart and Nadine around!
Will take Ruby the Astro out of the 107F desert and meander back to the Olympic Peninsula to ride GCOR as a tour and spend some time enjoying the PNW. Plan on finishing the GD route within a year.
